Humanity is African
Siren builds dynamic and sustainable societies by blending art with an education that promotes and shares African music, culture, and history. After years of growing to one of the top non-profit organizations in NYC, the Protectors of the Rainforest are excited to announce plans for the African Cultural Compound, new self-sustaining art, education, and community center in Brooklyn.
Our goal is to preserve, promote, and present the knowledge passed down from generations through art, history and culture. By forming comprehensive and innovative educational programming using artistic expression and African music, we enlighten diverse audiences and bring vital context to today’s issues, from climate change to food accessibility.
The African Cultural Compound will serve as Brooklyn’s defining cultural institution for African and African-inspired artwork, history, and education. This unique building will draw thousands in from a wide variety of backgrounds, including people eager to discover their roots, partnerships with other non-profit organizations in NYC, and communities exploring new cultures.
