About Siren
Siren – Protectors of the Rainforest, Inc. preserves, promotes, and presents African arts, dances, histories, cultures, and musical traditions through innovative educational programming and artistic expression.
Bridging Culture & Environment
Based in Brooklyn, New York, Siren bridges environmental justice with cultural preservation through performances, workshops, and residencies that address climate change, migration, and displacement.
Our work transforms movement into awareness, awareness into community, and community into action. Through African dance traditions — from the sacred Juju to the empowering Ntakumbeng — we connect the rhythms of heritage to the urgent pulse of ecological stewardship.
From Brooklyn classrooms to the stages of BAM, Siren carries forward the living traditions of Cameroon while confronting the environmental challenges that threaten the world’s rainforests and the communities that depend on them.
